PRAYER: Prayer For Defeat Of The Luciferian New World Order

August 15, 2016

Author unknown Almighty Alpha-Omega, Most High I-Am, Great Spirit, Creator of Love and Light, we pray not as beggars, but as sons and daughters to your majesty. You have gifted to us free will. We pray for wisdom, that we will use our free will righteously and courageously towards protecting the weak, and pulling down the wicked oppressors who in vain presume to judge others by choosing what groups will live and what groups will die. They think they are fit to rule the world. They call themselves elite. They plot the death of your children, Oh Lord. They mock the Lord God. They are empowered by fallen angels. Lord, in Christ’s name we pray for protection against fell demons and their vile followers. We pray for guidance, Lord. Help [...]

ANGELS: The Grave Angel by John-Ray Johnson

August 6, 2016

From Angelic Healing I got kicked out of high school for good when I was almost eighteen for gambling.  The fact is I had my own private casino in my school locker – portable roulette wheel, cards, dice, and all.  I used to get a group together and we’d go out behind the school, cutting classes, and shoot craps or roll the wheel or even play a hand or two of poker.  I was crazy about gambling, and I was pretty good at it.  When I wasn’t so good I’d cheat.  Either way, I made money.  I suppose it would seem really penny-ante today, but in 1966, $100 in a week’s time for doing very little seemed pretty attractive. Of course I didn’t get much out of school – when I showed up.  The reason for that [...]

SERMON: The Simplicity and Sublimity of Salvation, by Charles Haddon Spurgeon

April 27, 2014

He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:11-13) Everything here is simple; everything is sublime. Here is that simple gospel, by which the most ignorant may be saved. Here are profundities, in which the best-instructed may find themselves beyond their [...]

MEDITATION: The Question Of The Church, by H. Richard Niebuhr

February 16, 2014

From The Church Against The World The title of our book is not so much the enunciation of a theme as it is the declaration of a position.  We are seeking not to expound a thesis but to represent a point of view and to raise a question.  The point of view is from within the church, is that of churchmen who, having been born into the Christian community, having been nurtured in it and having been convinced of the truth of its gospel, know no life apart from it.  It is, moreover, the point of view of those who find themselves within a threatened church.  The world has always been against the church, but there have been times when the world has been partially converted, and when the church has lived with it in some measure of peace; there [...]

POETRY: Down In The Depth Of Mine Iniquity, by Fulke Greville, Lord Brooke

December 10, 2013

XCIX Down in the depth of mine iniquity, That ugly center of infernal spirits; Where each sin feels her own deformity, In those peculiar torments she inherits, Depriv’d of human graces, and divine, Even there appears this saving God of mine. And in this fatal mirror of transgression, Shows man as fruit of his degeneration, The error’s ugly infinite impression, Which bears the faithless down to desperation; Depriv’d of human graces, and divine, Even there appears this saving God of mine. For on this sp’ritual cross condemned lying, To pains infernal by eternal doom, I see my Savior for the same sins dying, And from that hell I fear’d, to free me, come; Depriv’d of human graces, and divine, Thus hath his [...]

THE HOLY SPIRIT: An Eschatological Gift, by Hans Küng

May 28, 2013

From The Church The Spirit as an eschatological gift.  In the messianic time of salvation, according to the prophetic expectation of salvation, not only individual prophets and wise men, warriors, singers and kings, were to be fulfilled by the spirit of God, by God’s creating power and strength of life; it was to be given to the whole people. “For I will pour water on thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your descendants and my blessing on your offspring.” (Isaiah 44:3, cf. 63:14)  “And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.” (Ezekiel 36:27; cf. Zechariah 4:6) The early Christian communities, the [...]

LENTEN FIRE: Wednesday Of The Fifth Week Of Lent

March 21, 2013

From Becoming Fire: Through the Year with the Desert Fathers and Mothers  Abba Macarius welcomes rebuke It was said about Abba Macarius that if a brother came to him fearfully as though to a saint and great old man, he would say nothing to him.  But if one of the brothers heaped scorn on him, saying, “My father, when you were a camel-driver and stole nitre and sold it, didn’t the guards beat you?”  If someone said these words to him, he would speak with him with joy about whatever he asked him. Imitate the dead A brother paid a visit to Abba Macarius and said to him, “Tell me a word: How can I be saved?” The old man said to him, “Go to the tombs.  Curse the dead.  Throw rocks at them.” The [...]

LENTEN FIRE: Monday Of The Third Week Of Lent

March 5, 2013

From Becoming Fire: Through the Year with the Desert Fathers and Mothers  Walking alone with God You shall test the teaching that you follow, walking alone with God at your side. For Elijah was at the river Chorath alone, God was with him, and the raven ministered to him. (1 Kings 17:1-7) The prophet was also walking alone; he took Paul’s belt and bound himself. (Acts 21:11) When you fell into sin you won A brother went to draw water from the river.  He found a woman washing clothes and it happened that he fell into sin with her.  After the sin, he took his water and was returning to his cell, but the demons, by means of his thoughts, trampled on him and afflicted him, saying, “Where are you going?  After this, [...]

LENTEN FIRE: Tuesday Of The First Week Of Lent

February 20, 2013

From Becoming Fire: Through the Year with the Desert Fathers and Mothers  Stones in the mouth It was said about Abba Agathon that for three years he placed a stone in his mouth until he had succeeded in keeping quiet. The chickpea in the road Abba Agathon was walking one time with his disciples.  One of them, finding a small green chickpea in the road, said to the old man, “Father, may I take it?” The old man stared at him in amazement and said, “And did you put it there?” The brother said to him, “No.” The old man said, “Why, then, do you wish to take something that you did not put there?” Make your thoughts like a prisoner’s thoughts A brother asked Abba Ammonas, “Tell me a [...]

SERMON: The Weight of Glory, by C. S. Lewis

December 9, 2012

If you asked twenty good men to-day what they thought the highest of the virtues, nineteen of them would reply, Unselfishness. But if you asked almost any of the great Christians of old he would have replied, Love. You see what has happened? A negative term has been substituted for a positive, and this is of more than philological importance. The negative ideal of Unselfishness carries with it the suggestion not primarily of securing good things for others, but of going without them ourselves, as if our abstinence and not their happiness was the important point. I do not think this is the Christian virtue of Love. The New Testament has lots to say about self-denial, but not about self-denial as an end in itself.  We are told to deny [...]

ADVENT MEDITATION: The Shaking Reality Of Advent by Alfred Delp

December 5, 2012

(Condemned as a traitor for his opposition to Hitler, Father Alfred Delp, a Jesuit priest, wrote this piece in a Nazi prison shortly before he was hanged in 1945.) There is perhaps nothing we modern people need more than to be genuinely shaken up.  Where life is firm we need to sense its firmness; and where it is unstable and uncertain and has no basis, no foundation, we need to know this too and endure it. We may ask why God has sent us into this time, why he has sent this whirlwind over the Earth, why he keeps us in this chaos where all appears hopeless and dark and why there seems to be no end to this in sight.  The answer to this question is perhaps that we were living on Earth in an utterly false and counterfeit security.  And now [...]

GOD 101: Man’s Massive Misunderstanding Of Judgment

November 27, 2012

Throughout my life I have heard the most amazing things said about God slip out of people’s mouths.  Christian people.  And I have had to stop myself quite a few times from saying, um, what are you talking about? what God are you describing?  have you ever heard of Jesus? But even when I’ve slipped one of those questions (in much more polite form) into a conversation, the response has pretty much always been, what? no! what I am saying is right! and true! And I have wondered.  And wondered.  And wondered. Where do people get such ideas? They get them from their bodies, of course. We as mortal, vulnerable, humbly created, frail, and at times feeble humans, without really knowing it, always put our bodies first in our [...]

SALVATION: A Review of the Book, Love Wins, by Rob Bell

June 19, 2012

Not that long ago, a friend dropped a smallish book down in front of me.  It was Rob Bell’s, Love Wins.  “It’s not a hard read,” he commented.  “I agree with much of it, but there were some errors, I think.  I wondered what you thought of it.” So I began to read the small volume.  There was a lot of white space on the pages.  The paragraphs were short, and even down to one sentence much of the time. Sort of like the writing in a blog. And even the typeface, a sans serif style, let the reader know that this was not a book to be taken all that seriously.  Just a quick read about a subject the author clearly took very, very lightly. It’s about our salvation, after all.  And, from the very [...]
