EDEN: A Spit Of Chaos, or, The Serpent’s Motive

November 23, 2018

I just want to say upfront, so there’s no confusion here, that I have come to feel that the most significant barrier to a person’s reading of the Bible is the church.  How it’s waved its paw to erase subtlety, explained things in such a child-like manner that people have dropped any desire to be curious or assertive about the words before them, and insisted on being The Experts that must be listened to. Over the last I-don’t-know-how-many years, I’ve really come to appreciate the Bible.  Most of my life it served as my code book: I would search it to find explanations to visions, to confirm them as accurate, to show me my way. But as I’ve come into old age and now have the confidence to know that the [...]

EVIL: Understanding Lucifer

June 21, 2018

I have a son who, when he was young, played some video games.  One type he played were called role-playing games.  In these, the player assumes the identity of a fictional character and works to accomplish the many levels that are in the game.  One challenge on each level is to defeat the “boss.”  The antagonist to the player’s protagonist.  As the player climbs to the next level, the difficulty of defeating the boss gets harder.  Until the last level, when the player meets the “Last Boss.” The worst enemy of them all. Seven years it has been.  Funny how so many things in our lives revolve around the number seven: days in a week, continents, seas, deadly sins. It began back then, but it took a few years [...]

SERMON: Detecting False Gods by L. R. Tarsitano

December 10, 2017

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. (2 Timothy 3:8-9) “Jannes” and “Jambres” are the names that tradition gives to the court magicians who were brought forth by the Pharaoh to confront Moses and Aaron. Pharaoh, of course, wanted to do more than to prove that his magicians were as powerful as Moses and Aaron, the prophets of God. A prophet speaks for another, and Pharaoh did not want to hear what God had to say to him. He did not want to obey God’s commandment: “Let my people go.” And this is what [...]

EVIL: Love And Inadequacy

October 23, 2017

A little while ago, during a vision, I happened upon something.  Not intentionally.  Or, at least, I don’t think it was intentionally. I raised my eyebrows at it and decided that I didn’t want to know this. I’m not sure why.  But I decided I wanted to keep it a secret. Even from myself. But last night, not realizing I was on the same path that would lead to the same answer, I happened upon it again. So the secret was officially “out.” Everything that exists has a seen side and an unseen side. Pretty much every minute of the day we are unaware of this. That the good has a tangled side. That the bad have a confused and weak side. That what appears before us and convinces us it is what we see is not, [...]

POETRY: Daydreaming by Simone Weil

October 11, 2017

I believe that the root of evil, in everybody perhaps, but certainly in those whom affliction has touched, is daydreaming. It is the sole consolation, the unique resource of the afflicted; the one solace that helps them bear the fearful burden of time; and a very innocent one, besides being indispensable. So how could it be possible to renounce it? It has only one disadvantage, which is that it is unreal. To renounce it for the love of truth is really to abandon all one’s possessions in a mad excess of love and to follow Him who is the personification of Truth. And it is really to bear the cross; because time is the cross. In all its forms without exception, daydreaming is falsehood. It excludes love. Love is [...]

EVIL: The Distinction Between Bondage And Marriage

May 5, 2017

I am a mystic. As such I approach the world as a place where the people in it are those who are in need of healing. Let’s face it, we are all in need of healing all the time. At least that’s what I thought until very recently. As a mystic, I really don’t have a mind for absolute forms of humanity.  I work with the relative.  People are like puzzles to me.  And I work to put the pieces together in a way that the person can function better in life.  Feel better about themselves.  Feel better about God, and their relationship with him. When humanity becomes a wall, an unmovable object, then I am challenged. And while I like challenges generally, I prefer them to be in the realm of healing. Healing: the art of picking up [...]

SACRIFICE: Moses — Painting By Numbers

April 6, 2017

Lent is all about taking steps.  One after the other. Lent is only about taking steps. He leads.  We follow. Until we come to the edge.  Then he falls.  And we stay right where we are. And at that moment it is not just our souls and our hearts that are plunged into darkness. Not just our altars and our churches. But it is the world, even the universe that no longer has his light to see by. I write these posts because I am tired of living a life of clenching my fists hard and biting my lip whenever I hear someone say that Jesus Died For Me with the same kind of enthusiasm he might use if he just won a car on a game show. Gosh!  Isn’t it great!  Look at what he did for me! No. Just, no. Like Noah’s raven, Jesus was sent to [...]

SACRIFICE: The Raven’s Fate

March 2, 2017

And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made: And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth. Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole Earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the [...]

FORGIVENESS: Humility, or The Tale of Two Shawls

February 18, 2017

I have been studying what I thought was a “new” form of evil.  New to me, that is. Turns out, though, I studied it for years when I was half my age. Because it was only a study back then, and because the study was very intense, it left some terror in my soul. I’m very efficient about my emotions: if I don’t need them right here, right now for whatever it is I am doing, then they get stowed away. This terror had been stowed away – very much out of sight, out of mind – until the door was flung open and there it was. And here this study is again now. But what I realized was that when I had studied this particular form of evil, I had never come up with the understanding of what kind of spiritual weapon would be [...]

January 15, 2017

I am angry.  Very angry. Well, at least I was. I came to a boil when I read the words that generally said in an article on deliverance that fighting Satan is no harder than taking out the garbage. That it’s merely something you might not want to do, but it’s your responsibility, so go for it. Oh, and there’s nothing to be afraid of.  Because you know, Jesus something or other. The man who was nailed to a cross to bleed to death because of evil has your back. You know. So forget about it. On the evening of the day that I read this – I won’t stoop to calling it nonsense – I heard the same statement made in a lecture. It must be in the air. Nothing frightening about Satan.  Oh, no.  He’s a peach.  A [...]

SPIRITUAL WARFARE: Critical Conditions

October 14, 2016

I had the grace a few weeks ago of being introduced to an agency that works to save slaves around the world.  That’s not the only work that this agency does.  They help women whose families try to seize their land after the death of their husbands.  They stop sex traffickers. And after they save the people from violence, they provide them with safe houses where they can heal from all their wounds. So faced with being asked to pray for the International Justice Mission, I looked at my schedule, scratched my head, and wondered where I would “fit” them in.  And I saw that I could rearrange my noon prayers to make room.  Normally, I would read the noonday prayers, supplemented with a little “outside” reading, [...]

SPIRITUAL WARFARE: Lucifer—Soulless Evil

August 19, 2016

I’ve always thought of myself as the weirdest person on Earth. One of the reasons for that is how, when I began the study of evil from its soul-structure point-of-view, one of the first things I wondered was, If evil has to do with the soul, and Lucifer doesn’t have a soul because he’s an angel, is he really evil?  And if he is, what kind of evil is it? This question has been like a slowly drip of water at the very back of my brain ever since. In fact, whenever faced with another lesson on evil, I wondered where Lucifer was. Reading about Lucifer never helped me. Pride. Fall. Battle. Hell. Is one who battles God by definition evil? Isn’t evil something that affects human on Earth? If evil is only in the realm of [...]

MYSTICISM: The Throne Of Lucifer by John Ryan Haule

August 18, 2016

From The Ecstasies of St. Francis In the morning Brother Pacificus was caught up in ecstasy and saw a host of thrones in the sky; one, higher than all the others, was radiant with the glory and brilliance of all kinds of precious stones.  Admiring its splendor, he wondered what this throne was and for whom it was prepared.  Suddenly he heard a voice say to him: “This was Lucifer’s throne.  Blessed Francis will occupy it in his stead.” Pretending that nothing had happened, for he did not want to reveal his vision, he asked blessed Francis: “Brother, what do you think of yourself?”  “I think,” he answered, “that I am the greatest of sinners.”  Immediately Brother Pacificus heard [...]

POETRY: Lucifer in Starlight, by David St. John

August 18, 2016

Tired of his dark dominion … —George Meredith It was something I’d overheard One evening at a party; a man I liked enormously                      Saying to a mutual friend, a woman Wearing a vest embroidered with scarlet and violet tulips           That belled below each breast, “Well, I’ve always Preferred Athens; Greece seems to me a country                      Of the day—Rome, I’m afraid, strikes me As being a city of the night…. ”           Of course, I knew instantly just what he meant—                      Not simply because I love Standing on the terrace of my apartment on a clear evening           As the [...]

POETRY: Lucifer In Starlight by George Meredith

August 17, 2016

On a starr’d night Prince Lucifer uprose. Tired of his dark dominion swung the fiend Above the rolling ball in cloud part screen’d, Where sinners hugg’d their spectre of repose. Poor prey to his hot fit of pride were those. And now upon his western wing he lean’d, Now his huge bulk o’er Afric’s sands careen’d, Now the black planet shadow’d Arctic snows. Soaring through wider zones that prick’d his scars With memory of the old revolt from Awe, He reach’d a middle height, and at the stars, Which are the brain of heaven, he look’d, and sank. Around the ancient track march’d, rank on rank, The army of unalterable [...]

EVIL: The Life Of Lucifer, by Jeffrey Burton Russell

August 16, 2016

From Lucifer: The Devil in the Middle Ages Evil is real and immediate.  On March 8, 1980, the Los Angeles Times reported the activities of the convicted murderer Steven T. Judy: The brutal murder that made today Judy’s last day to live occurred around 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday, April 28, 1979.  Terry Lee Chasteen, 23, was taking her children – Misty Ann, 5, Steven, 4, and Mark, 2 – to the babysitter en route to her job at an Indianapolis supermarket when she was flagged to the side of the interstate highway by a man indicating there was a problem with her car.  It was Judy, just five days out of jail after posting $750 bond on an armed robbery charge, playing the role of a good Samaritan.  But while pretending to help, [...]

SIN: The Seven Deadly Sins by Carol K. and Dinah Mack

August 15, 2016

From Demons, Vampires, Fallen Angels, and other subversive spirits The Christian West The seven deadly sins were grouped together by Saint Gregory the Great in the sixth century.  The seven later appear importantly in the Summa Theologica of the thirteenth century, where they are defined and described by Saint Thomas Aquinas as “appetites.”  The Sins are agents of serious moral offences, transgressions of the divine law that lead to eternal damnation.  They are one of the most virulent and chronic of the possession species that roost within the psyche.  They are seen as tendencies, temptations, passions – all interconnected strands of the fabric of the human condition, the stuff of exaggerated cravings that cause mortal [...]

PRAYER: Prayer For Defeat Of The Luciferian New World Order

August 15, 2016

Author unknown Almighty Alpha-Omega, Most High I-Am, Great Spirit, Creator of Love and Light, we pray not as beggars, but as sons and daughters to your majesty. You have gifted to us free will. We pray for wisdom, that we will use our free will righteously and courageously towards protecting the weak, and pulling down the wicked oppressors who in vain presume to judge others by choosing what groups will live and what groups will die. They think they are fit to rule the world. They call themselves elite. They plot the death of your children, Oh Lord. They mock the Lord God. They are empowered by fallen angels. Lord, in Christ’s name we pray for protection against fell demons and their vile followers. We pray for guidance, Lord. Help [...]

DIABOLOGY: Encounter With Evil, by Malcolm Godwin

August 11, 2016

From Angels: An Endangered Species We now turn to what are claimed to be first-hand accounts of meetings with the enemy.  During the five centuries after Christ many Christian hermits and monks withdrew into the wilderness in order to leave worldly temptations.  Legions of demons seemed to follow them with enthusiasm, if the contemporary monastic diabology is anything to by by.  This diabology was a new type of writing which gave instructions as to how to resist temptation and cope with the threat of demonic attacks.  It also gave the writers an opportunity to give the most lurid accounts of the archenemy himself. The most influential of these visionary, yet practical, manuals of how to deal with both angel and Devil was the [...]

SPIRITUAL WARFARE: The Fallen Angels by Ignatius Brianchaninov

August 9, 2016

From Eternal Mysteries Beyond the Grave The evil spirits are fallen angels.  God created them along with the other angels, and at first they all were pure, good, and holy, and generously endowed with many gifts, both natural and given by the grace of God.  But some of the angelic spirits became darkened by pride and began to attribute their profusion of various gifts, their excellent qualities, and even the gifts of grace to themselves.  They no longer considered themselves created beings.  Instead, they began to think of themselves as self-sufficient, and forgot that they had been made by God.  Such was the disastrous cause of their disregard of their sacred obligations to God their Creator.  Among the most eminent angels, there was [...]

FALLEN ANGELS: A War In Heaven by David Albert Jones

August 8, 2016

From Angels: A History Now war arose in Heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they were defeated and there was no longer any place for them in Heaven.  And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world – he was thrown down to the Earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.  And I heard a loud voice in Heaven, saying, “Now the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. Rejoice then, O Heaven and you that dwell there!  But woe to you, O Earth and sea, for the Devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is [...]

July 29, 2016

It wasn’t anything I ever expected to find in my visions. It started out fairly normally.  I kept being shown that there was a great concern in the world.  A lot of people had the same prayer on their hearts. So I looked into it. I found someone who was passionate for this matter. And had written a number of prayers and posted them online. Probably I shouldn’t have, but I couldn’t help it.  I read the prayers and was horrified. So, being a former editor, I ripped them apart and sent the author my insights. Why pray for understanding when what is needed is food and shelter?  You see, I can almost claim the world’s championship trophy in understanding. But all the understanding in the world doesn’t do squat [...]

MICHAEL: Helper And Defender Of Christians

July 28, 2016

From St. Michael the Archangel (author unknown) Besides the protection which the glorious Archangel Michael extends to the church at large, he is also the protector of every individual Christian and of all Christian nations.  How fortunate we are in having so powerful an advocate!  Surely, never so urgently as at the present time have Christians needed Saint Michael’s help to remain steadfast in their faith.  Unbelief has carried its insolence to the very limit and boldly proclaims that there is no God.  Blasphemy against Jesus Christ, against his mysteries and his doctrines has increased in the most frightful manner.  It is our duty to be faithful Christians, to confess our faith openly and energetically, and to preserve a [...]

EDEN: God The Mosquito

June 10, 2016

The other day I was reminded of one of my first direct questions to God as a child.  There I was sitting in the field, back to the tree, sky and clouds above me. My sanctuary. And God had been going on for years about how everything in the universe is an expression of him.  Everything.  It was an interesting study.  I wondered why some churches use wine in their rites and other churches believed that all drinking was bad for you.  Why the difference? Well, he said…. Then one day I kind of had had enough of it.  All things can’t be of God, I thought. It’s impossible. (Striking how young I was to begin to confront and contradict what God was telling me.  Oh, well.  It just foreshadowed a lifetime of being wrong.) [...]

SPIRITUAL WARFARE: Not Peace, But A Sword, by Johann Christoph Arnold

January 15, 2016

From Seeking Peace Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the Earth!  No, rather, a sword.  I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law – a man’s worst enemies will be found right in his own home!  If you love your father and mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. (Jesus of Nazareth) When Matthew recorded these words of Jesus in the tenth chapter of his Gospel, he gave generations of Christians a favorite argument with which to defend the use of force in dealing with other human beings.  But what did Jesus really mean? [...]

November 24, 2015

My mind is a funny thing.  Sometimes watching it do its thing, I’m amused. Sometimes I am amazed.  Sometimes I am horrified. Lately, though, as it has been doing its thing, I’ve been impressed. Something it does best is sort.  Categorize.  Order. When I was young I used to have a recurring thought that were I God, this universe would be better ordered.  Too much chaos all the time all over the place. Let’s get it cleaned up.  Everything in its place. Right.  No chance of that. But I always have my thoughts that I can play with.  And play with them, I do. All of a sudden, one day, my categorization of evil expanded, revealing different aspects of the evils.  And even to approaches to them. Distinct. Neat. [...]

PRAYER: Prayer Against The Antichrist

October 26, 2015

Author unknown O loving and merciful Father, all knowing and all powerful, the Alpha and the Omega, the Eternal Father who created all things, that you should forsake your children, your nature forbids. Look kindly on your begotten son, Jesus Christ, who came to save men and bring your kingdom down on Earth. I offer you all the agonies, tortures, pains, and the precious blood of your son, Jesus Christ, for the defeat of all the enemies of the Holy Cross of Salvation – the Antichrist and the Red Dragon – who are fighting against the truth now and in the end of the age. May they, through the precious blood of our redeemer and his last breath on Earth, disappear like foam exposed under the sun, so that your kingdom may quickly come on [...]

MARTYRDOM: Memory, Communion, Hope by Robert Royal

October 23, 2015

From The Catholic Martyrs of the Twentieth Century “Convert, or die like Christ.”  Those words from the most flagrant religious oppression in the world at the dawn of a new millennium might serve as an epitaph for all the hundreds of thousands who suffered persecution and death in the twentieth century – or, for that matter, since the very beginnings of Christianity.  Christ made a point of telling his followers: “They have persecuted me and they will persecute you.”  And the Gospel of John, after noting that Jesus knew what was in human hearts, records that the master said, “The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.”  It has [...]

SERMON: The Day Of Visitation by Isaac Williams

July 26, 2015

If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! (Saint Luke 19:42) When the Epistles and Gospels were ranged differently to what they now are, the Epistle for last Sunday attached to the Gospel for today added a peculiar force to it; for the Epistle gave warning of Israel in the wilderness not entering into God’s rest, while this Gospel speaks of the Israel of later time being in like manner wept over by their own Messiah, and by Him cast out of His temple; and both for the same reason, on account of God being forgotten in the love of this world. But our Epistle for today has for us in store another lesson of edification. Let us endeavor to read and ponder it with the light of God’s [...]

EVIL: Our Impending Night

April 23, 2015

The conversation started without referent. This was something well known to me, conversations beginning without any referent. My daughter is wont to do that: Just start talking as though we were in the middle of the conversation, throwing out thoughts about and allusions to who-knows-what.  Sometimes, even, in the middle of a conversation, she will just take off down a side alley, one that I hadn’t seen as we passed it by, and start all over on an entirely new subject, while I search desperately about, trying to figure out where I am, what had been said that connected with what she was talking about now. Except there had been nothing that connected the two trains of thought, unless somewhere deep in my daughter’s brain. [...]
