O Lord Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life, grant that we may never stray from you who are the Way, nor distrust you who are the Truth, nor rest in any thing other than you, who are the Life. Teach us by your Holy Ghost what to believe, what to do, and wherein to take our rest. For your own name’s sake, we ask it, O Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Hear our prayers, O Lord Jesu, the everlasting Wisdom of the Father; who givest unto us, in the days of our youth, aptness to learn: add, we pray thee, the furtherance of thy grace, so to learn knowledge and the liberal sciences that, by their help, we may attain to the fuller knowing of thee, whom to know is the height of blessedness; and by the example of thy boyhood, may duly increase in age, wisdom, and favor with God and man. Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, world without end. Amen.
Lord Jesus Christ,
you are the sun that always rises, but never sets.
You are the source of all life,
creating and sustaining every living thing.
You are the source of all food, material and spiritual,
nourishing us in both body and soul.
You are the light that dispels the clouds of error and doubt,
and goes before me every hour of the day,
guiding my thoughts and my actions.
May I walk in your light,
be nourished by your food,
be sustained by your mercy,
and be warmed by your love.
Most merciful Savior, whom to know, with the Father and the Holy Ghost, is life everlasting: increase the faith of thy servants, that we may never stray from thy truth; our obedience, that we may never swerve from thy commandments. Increase thy grace in us, that, alive in thee, we may fear nothing but thee, than whom nothing is more mighty; love nothing but thee, than whom nothing is more lovable; glory in nothing but thee, who art the glory of all the saints; and finally desire nothing but thee, who, with the Father and the Holy Ghost, art the full and perfect felicity for ever. Amen.
