POETRY: Through Solid Rock, by Rainer Maria Rilke

I think I am passing through solid rock,
as the ore lies,
alone.
Everything is close to my face,
and everything close to my face is stone.

I don’t have much knowledge yet in pain,
so this massive darkness makes me small.
You break in!
So Your great transformation will happen to me,
and my great grief cry will happen to You.
